Internal Essay Competitions
Our internal essay competitions provide students with an opportunity to engage with current affairs, explore important issues and develop their own informed opinions on topics that extend beyond the classroom.
They are designed to give students a voice, encouraging them to think independently, question different perspectives and engage thoughtfully with the world around them. By responding to challenging and sometimes controversial questions, students develop their ability to construct persuasive arguments, evaluate evidence, challenge assumptions and communicate complex ideas with clarity and confidence.
The competitions also provide valuable preparation for further study and university, where independent thinking, critical analysis, academic writing and the ability to articulate and defend an argument are essential skills.
Above all, we want to foster intellectual curiosity, encourage students to engage with issues that matter and create a culture where thoughtful debate, independent thought and the confident expression of ideas are valued and celebrated.
