What Ofsted Says
Significant progress in all areas
We proudly welcomed OFSTED to observe our sixth form for the first time since opening. The inspectors visited a broad range of lessons, interviewed students and staff and challenged leadership on the sixth form vision and implementation. HRSF was awarded significant progress in all areas - the highest ranking available for a monitoring visit. Below is a summary of what OFSTED found - the full report is available at the bottom of the page.
Harris Rainham Sixth Form is rapidly establishing itself as a centre of excellence in post-16 education, as highlighted in its recent Ofsted monitoring visit. Inspectors recognised the remarkable progress made across all areas, praising the leadership team for shaping a clear vision and a powerful ethos that inspires ambition and success. At the heart of this achievement is a carefully crafted curriculum, seamlessly combining rigorous A-level and vocational pathways with a wealth of academic enrichment opportunities—opening doors to exciting futures for students in an area of educational disadvantage.
Teaching is consistently of a high standard, delivered by expert subject specialists who are exceptionally well supported. Through precise assessment and impactful feedback, they ensure students develop deep understanding and achieve strong outcomes. Beyond the classroom, students thrive through an outstanding careers programme, a wide range of elective opportunities, and a culture that nurtures curiosity, confidence, and readiness to excel in competitive next steps.
Safeguarding is robust and meticulous, reflecting a deeply embedded culture of care, vigilance, and support. Overall, Ofsted recognised Harris Rainham Sixth Form as a highly effective and well-led institution—one with a positive, ambitious culture and a clear trajectory to sustain excellence as it continues to grow.
